Audiology Service - NHS Hearing Aid Self-Referral Pathway
If you are over 55 years of age, need a hearing test and are not already on an NHS hearing pathway, and think you might benefit from free NHS hearing aids, you can now self-refer to the local Audiology service
In our area, Community Audiology service is provided by Scrivens Hearing Care.
There is no need to contact your GP, but please contact the chosen Scrivens Hearing Care Clinic directly.
You can also attend your local Scrivens Hearing branch for all aftercare and any additional assistance required. Scrivens Hearing branches are open six days a week and offer flexible service to meet the individual needs of each patient.

CAMHS
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) are an NHS service that aims to help young people up to the age of 18 who are finding it hard to manage their emotional and psychological health, and who are suffering with acute, chronic and severe mental health problems. Continence Team (Southern Health)
The Continence Service are a team of nurses and advisors who can offer support, assessments, treatment and advice to individuals over 18 years of age who have bladder and or bowel problems.
You can self-refer yourself to the team for help and support via their website or by calling them on 02382 311690 and selecting option 4.

Drugs and Alcohol
Inclusion provide services that include advice, information, harm reduction interventions, recovery planning in conjunction with a range of pharmacological, psychosocial and structured treatment programs. Inclusion supports those affected by drugs and alcohol in Hampshire.

To be referred:

- Telephone the surgery after 2pm and your details will be taken and passed on to the relevant person
- Send an SMS to 07310964875 requesting to be referred (do not call this number it is not for incoming calls unless specifically asked to do so)
You may be asked to provide your height & weight to check if you qualify if that information has not been provided recently.
Please understand this service is likely to be popular so your request to be referred will not be processed immediately. You will be contacted via SMS or phone to confirm when you have been referred.
NHS Talking Therapies (italk)
Patients wishing to speak to a counsellor do not have to be referred by a GP and can self refer to NHS Talking Therapies (italk). Most of the treatments offered by the service are based on cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), which is a type of talking therapy.

Pharmacy Contraception Service
pharmacies offer the contraceptive pill for free. You do not need to see a doctor or nurse for a prescription.
A pharmacist may be able to supply the contraceptive pill if you need to:
- start using the contraceptive pill for the first time
- start the contraceptive pill again after a break from taking it
- get a supply of the contraceptive pill if it’s already been prescribed to you
If the pharmacist gives you the contraceptive pill they will share this information with your GP if you give permission for them to do so.

Pharmacy First
Pharmacists can give you advice on a range of conditions and suggest medicines that can help.
They may also be able to offer treatment and some prescription medicine for some conditions, without you needing to see a GP. Conditions they can treat as part of Pharmacy First are:
- earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
- impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
- infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
- shingles (aged 18 years and over)
- sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
- sore throat (aged 5 years and over)
- urinary tract infections or UTIs (women aged 16 to 64 years)

Physiotherapy Service (Southern Health MSK)
